"The male nude in art."

An early example of full-frontal nudity invintage gay physique magazines.

Late 1960s.

After censorship restrictions on such material were lifted by the MANual Enterprises vs. Day case, outfits such as DSI Publications began circulating magazines showing full-frontal nudity. The dicks were not hard, and the guys weren't engaging in overt sexual activities (usually sublimated in this era as wrestling), but they were totally nude.

Oftentimes, as in the case of this magazine, the nudity was enhanced by fetish gear such as  boots, gloves, and leather jackets and sailor hats. One photo in this magazine, a young guy lifting weights, harks back to early physique poses, but finally, the viewer can see the dick and the hairy basket; they no longer hide behind the posing strap or even the fake ones often "painted on" the photos. The guys here aren't all beefed up muscle mass, either. They're smooth and displays an athletic body type, but not weightlifting contestant buffed.

A real youthful beauty appears on the inside back cover, while later on a stud with more muscle mass and sensual lips offers a hint of rougher pleasures.

This issue contains one article summarizing the anatomy of the head; no "weight training/exercise/physical culture" article. One wonders why they included the one they did; perhaps because it makes a most generalized relationship to the photos of various bodies and focuses the reader on those cute guys finally showing their dicks.
