Physique '87 Men Item ID....D01275 $ 19.95Cast List Uncredited Review Male Entertainment Network (MEN) was founded in 1983 and lasted for 10 years as a media company for the gay community. During that time, they produced 40 videos - including all of the official coverage of Gay Games II. MEN documented gay history in a unique fashion - capturing, in words and images, gay life in the '80s. A gay bodybuilders' competition held in San Francisco, hosted by Dick Ferris and Betty Doza and sponsored by the San Francisco Eagle, Rawhide, the Galleon, Mercury Mail Order, The Gay Book. Men pose and flex, competing in categories of master (over 40 and, in two cases, way over 40), middle-weight, bantam, and light-weight. The men are not absurdly over built, but rather well-defined and pose with a minimum of finery that is usually limited to a tight speedo and occasionally an earring or a well-trimmed mustache. Each one gets up to strut for their chosen song. Some are definitely better than others, but all exhibit their special charm and especially their muscles. The editing is well done, with some fun camera tricks, and the lighting is passable. A 1987 video co-produced by Kitty Tsui and Joe Tolbe. Running time: 40 minutes.
