Intl. Mr. Leather '85 Item ID....D01257 $ 19.95Chicagoan Jim Flint emcees this contest judged by Mr. Marcus (of San Francisco), Etienne, the 1983 and 1984 winners (Colt Thomas and Ron Moore), and others. Comedian Judy Tenuta (the Goddess herself) and Robert Gruenberg, who juggles three fourteen-pound bowling balls and finishes by juggling an apple, an egg and a chain saw with its motor running, entertain. Unlike a lot of other year's contests, this one, at least judged from this tape, is pretty cut and dry, with the line up of the contestants, performances, selection of the finalists, and then the announcement of the winners. What makes this video interesting (as the typical contest portions are not) are the campy and funny trailers at the end of the tape, which the audience obviously loved. At the end of the contest, Ron Moore excitedly jumps on the 1985 winner, San Francisco's Patrick Toner, wrapping his legs around him while embracing and kissing him. The "First Runner-Up" was Joe Ciarleglio of Long Beach; the "Second Runner-Up" was Richard Hennigh of Seattle. Executive produced by Chuck Renslow. A Male Entertainment Network release. |
